MyHeritage raw data

A health report from your MyHeritage raw data.

Your MyHeritage download lists your genotype at around 700,000 positions. Open it here for a PDF that matches it against the GWAS Catalog, with the study behind every row, whether or not you bought MyHeritage's health upgrade. The file never leaves your browser.

MyHeritage Health

MyHeritage Health and a GWAS report answer different questions

MyHeritage sells health reports as an upgrade to its own DNA test. Its introduction page lists 27 conditions: genetic risk reports for monogenic conditions such as Parkinson's disease, carrier status reports such as cystic fibrosis, and polygenic risk reports for common conditions such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Polygenic reports are only shown when the ethnicity estimate is above 95% European, and the upgrade is not sold everywhere: on 14 October 2026 the German-language product page offered the ancestry kit only.

A GWAS report reads the same raw file differently: for each condition in the GWAS Catalog that your file covers, it lists the risk alleles you carry, the published effect sizes and the PubMed study behind every row. You pay per report, with no subscription and no upgrade to your kit.

Step one

Download your MyHeritage raw data

The download guide for all six providers →

  1. 1Sign in, hover over DNA and choose Manage DNA kits.
  2. 2Click the three dots next to the kit and choose Download.
  3. 3Click Continue, accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and click Continue again.
  4. 4Open the email MyHeritage sends and click its link, which is valid for 24 hours.
  5. 5Enter your password again and click Download. You get a .zip with a .csv inside.

Only the kit manager can download, on a computer or an Android device, and only for kits MyHeritage tested itself: a kit uploaded from another company has to be downloaded from that company. MyHeritage stopped accepting uploads from other companies in August 2025. Its help centre describes a tab-separated file with two allele columns; the downloads we have seen use the CSV layout above.

The report

What the report reads in your MyHeritage file

The generator matches your file against 12'110 lead associations from the GWAS Catalog (June 2026 release), covering 409 catalog traits from 1'020 studies, all at genome-wide significance. For each condition it lists the risk alleles you carry, the size of each effect and the PubMed study behind it, and gives a tendency (higher odds, lower odds or no meaningful difference) only when your file measures at least a third of the condition's known variants. Otherwise the condition is marked not assessable rather than guessed.

The report is informational, not a diagnosis: associations describe groups, a consumer chip reads few rare variants, and the report holds no baseline risk. The methodology page lists every rule.

Privacy

Your file stays in your browser

The report is written by a program compiled to WebAssembly that runs in your browser tab. Your MyHeritage file is read in memory and the PDF is created on your device; our servers see an account and a payment, never your genotypes. You can check this in thirty seconds in your browser's Network tab.

Questions

MyHeritage files: common questions

Do I need MyHeritage's health upgrade?
No. The report reads the raw file you can download for any kit MyHeritage tested, with or without the upgrade, for a one-off price per report.
Can I download raw data for a kit I uploaded to MyHeritage?
No. MyHeritage only offers downloads for kits it tested itself. Download an uploaded kit's file from the company that tested it, such as 23andMe or AncestryDNA; the report reads those files too.
How long does the MyHeritage download take?
Minutes. After the request MyHeritage emails a link that stays valid for 24 hours; you enter your password again and download a .zip.
Do I need to unzip the file or convert the CSV?
No. The report and the free file checker read the .zip as downloaded, on your device. Avoid opening the CSV in a spreadsheet and saving it again, which can rewrite the genotypes.
